A Journey of Building Bridges: THISDL Students in France
When we first landed in Paris, we carried nothing more than suitcases, curiosity, and the heavy fog of jet lag weighing on our shoulders. But from the very first moment, something carried us through the warmth of our French host families, who welcomed us not as strangers but as their own children, and who would spend the coming days preparing cultural activities, sharing meals, teaching us about life in Paris, and making sure every single one of us felt cared for, safe, and deeply loved. The first few days were a blur of tired eyes and yawns we tried desperately to hide, but what kept us going was something far more powerful than sleep, a good sense of humor, an unshakable positive attitude, and the infectious energy of our classmates and our new French friends. Every time someone nearly dozed off on the bus, a nearby friend would nudge them awake with a joke, and every time the schedule felt overwhelming, we reminded each other that we were in Paris, a dream come true for so many of us.
